Facilitated IEP training will provide a structure and process for carrying out IEP meetings. This training will focus on enhancing interpersonal skills to enable key staff to facilitate IEP meetings where the greatest possibilities exist for emotional, contentious or litigious meetings. Participants will learn how to:
1. Keep IEP team members focused on the student's needs and IEP meetings on target by teaching meeting process skills to special education staff, administrators and other IEP team members. 2. Foster more positive school and parent relationships by using conflict-resolution skills. 3. Establish collaborative meeting environments where all team members are provided the opportunity to share ideas and concerns in a respectful manner. 4. Enrich IEP meetings by emphasizing dialogue instead of forms, while still maintaining a compliant process. 5. Immediately use new IEP facilitation skills once back at work, thanks to extensive role-playing during training. 6. Impact the IEP process by teaching readliy transferable problem-solving, meeting and other person-to-person skills. Click here for an information flyer in PDF format.
