How to Handle Disagreements Concerning Your Child's IEP - Part 3 Oct 16, 2009
This workshop will focus on how to handle disagreements that may come up at an IEP and how to handle them so that a resoution is reached. What options does a parent have if a resolution cannot be reached? Parent rights, FAPE and IDEA will be explained. A look at the parent perspective verses the school perspective and cultural considerations will be discussed. Strategies to improve communication will be provided. Parents will learn to use data to frame their concerns and to communicate in a way that opens communication with the IEP team and leads to resolution.
